TunesFlow 100,000 downloads!

TunesFlow iPhone

Notice:  The software that I make is sold as it is. There’s a policy on the App Store about this, but if you need a refund you can consult the following guide : How to get a refund for iTunes or App Store purchases. I haven’t used this procedure nor I’m sure it works, but if you need it, perhaps it’s worthy to try it.

Always in Construction…

TunesFlow

icon1024TunesFlow started as a very tiny project in September 2013 after I came back from San Francisco, CA.  This particular project tried to fulfill my vision of an improved cover flow layout based player that perhaps I started with PicBrowser, but this project can be tracked back to 2008, when the idea started circulating in my head.

I had the cover flow implementation made for PicBrowser and I tried to port this into a new app. I was wrong at the beginning. The algorithm that I had for PicBrowser wasn’t good enough for the amount of media that some users had and then I started with the real challenge.

I had some health issues at the end of 2013 and I could resume developing the app in 2014. I worked on this app and after a suggestion of a customer I integrated an equalizer into the app. This single action opened a window that lead me to improve the app with each iteration. At the end of 2014 I was hired by Phunware Inc. and I put aside the development of the app.

Later, in 2016 I decided to move forward with the app and catch up with the latest technologies presented in iOS 9 and 10. Multitasking was the thing!, leading to the development of a better cover flow algorithm that could be configured to any size and orientation (helpful for the 1/3rd configuration for the iPad). Frankly I loved it!

Issues have been addressed and there’re new challenges ahead, but with each iteration it looks a little more to what I wanted back in 2008.

Zombie Serenade

They are undead and funny!

UPDATE
: It’s available on the App Store.

Mariachi vs ZombieSome time ago, in a town far, far away I got this idea about making something about Mariachis and Zombies. I never abandoned that idea and later it took some kind of form when I started to do some drawings about it. At that time I wasn’t sure if I was going to make a full video game about it, but at least I tried to consolidate a character. Later on, I took again my drawings and decided to do some sticker pack with some animations to test the characters.
Mariachi Playing GuitarThe Day of the dead is coming (meaning the mexican celebration) and since zombies are not going anywhere I thought it was a good chance to continue with this project. I downloaded the latest version of blender and started animating the characters. I wanted this project to be just in time for the holiday and I hope it will (at the time of writing this, I don’t know for sure) but at least I had some fun playing around with these guys. Hopefully you’ll have some fun with these stickers too.

CCH Campus Azcapotzalco – Interactive Maps

iTunesArtwork.pngIt’s great to remember you High School times and trying, somehow, to bring them back. But sometimes, when you try to live again those moments you could also try to improve your experience taking advantage of the knowledge you’ve been accumulating. That’s the origin of this App, wearing again the shoes of a newcomer to the school (and such a big school) and having not idea where to go. A very tiny and simple App, but with great potential if I get the right information.

One of the things that made me proud about this App is the embracement of Adaptivity. This App, being universal supports multitasking on the iPad (see below) and achieves another status in versatility in the iOS platform.

Also, I tried to put attention to some details such as zoom levels to show/hide points of interest in the campus and I think I achieved a pretty good solution (added the touch of spring animations on it).

Search was alsScreen Shot 2016-08-09 at 1.57.56 p.m..pngo implemented in this App, allowing to find some places or offices that are not displayed in it to avoid cluttering to much the points of interest. As I mentioned, this is the very first approach and I hope that I could improve the overall solution with enough time.

A pretty simple interface:

  • Search bar
  • Trash icon – to remove pins
  • Center map – on the area of interest (the campus)
  • Locate me – button, to show your location.

That’s it, simple enough but at the time I was studying there I would loved having this kind of tool.

Mexican Monuments (Sticker Pack)

Now available on the App Store!
captura-de-pantalla-2016-09-28-a-las-16-29-31I couldn’t resist the temptation, and I had to upload some stickers to the iMessage App Store. The subject of these stickers is quite obvious: my country, and since I like a lot buildings and monuments I started making the stickers.

I have to recognize my obsession for some details (you can tell if you see Palacio de Bellas Artes sticker), but #YOLO,  and I have to do it some day. Hopefully I will be able to add more beautiful places as time goes by.
